Privacy policy

Who we are

The data controller is Guangzhou Qiwo Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (广州启沃智能科技有限公司), a manufacturer in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, trading under the ALX brand. We make empty e-bike battery housings and conversion kits — mechanical parts only, with no cells, BMS, motors or controllers.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you send an enquiry we collect only what you type into the form: your name, company, business email address, country or region, the series and model you are interested in, your system voltage, cell type, frame dimensions or available space, the quantity you are considering, what you need from us, and your message. The consent box records that you agreed to this.

You may also attach a drawing or photograph (STEP, DWG, DXF, PDF, JPG, PNG or ZIP, up to 10 MB). Attachments often identify a frame or an existing part, so treat them as confidential business material — we do.

If you contact us by email, WhatsApp or WeChat instead, we receive whatever you send through those channels, together with your phone number or account identifier.

Information recorded automatically

When you browse the site, Google Analytics 4 records standard technical information: the pages you view, how you reached the site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type. This is aggregated statistics. It is not used to identify you, and we do not combine it with your enquiry.

The enquiry form itself does not set cookies. If you choose to send the form by opening your own email client instead, nothing is transmitted to us until you send that email yourself.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To answer your enquiry — identify the housing that fits, quote a price, and agree a delivery date. Under the GDPR this rests on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
• To supply a sample or an order — producing, packing, shipping and invoicing. This is performance of our contract with you, and includes keeping records we are required to keep for accounting and tax.
• To follow up — if you ask about a model and go quiet, we may contact you once or twice more about that enquiry. You can tell us to stop at any time.
• To understand how the site is used — aggregated analytics, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and finding out which pages are useful.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, we do not build advertising audiences from enquiry data, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Who else sees it

We keep this as short as we can. Your information reaches the following service providers, and no one else:

• Web3Forms — the form-handling service that receives your submission and forwards it to our mailbox. It processes the submission and does not use it for its own purposes.
• Our email provider — the enquiry arrives in our company mailbox and is stored there.
• Google — Google Analytics 4, for the visit statistics described above. Google acts as our processor for this.
• Netlify — hosts the website and, like any web host, processes requests to it.
• Carriers and our bank — only where an enquiry becomes an order, and only the details needed to ship it and get paid.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid request from a court or a tax authority.

Where your information is held

We are in China and our service providers are in various countries, so your information will be transferred to and stored outside your own country — including China and, for analytics, the regions Google uses. Where the GDPR applies, these transfers rely on the safeguards our providers put in place for them (standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism). Write to us if you want to know which safeguard applies to your information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for up to three years from our last contact, so that we recognise you and your requirement if you come back. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will. Where an enquiry becomes an order, we keep the related records for as long as accounting and tax rules require.

Analytics data is retained on the schedule set in our Google Analytics property, which we keep to the shortest period that is still useful.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can also object to processing that rests on our legitimate interest, and withdraw consent you gave earlier — withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

Write to info@alx-ebike.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in China, you may raise a matter under the Personal Information Protection Law (个人信息保护法).

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the enquiry mailbox is limited to the sales staff who answer enquiries, and each has their own account. Drawings and specifications you send are used only to quote and produce your item, and we are happy to sign your NDA before we open a file — ask, and we will return a signed copy before quoting.

No transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

This is a business site, not a consumer shop

This website is aimed at businesses — assemblers, brands and distributors — and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

The site shows no prices and takes no payment. Enquiries are answered by a sales person; nothing on this site is an automated offer or an order.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes that affect existing enquiries will be sent to the email address you gave us.
